Stiletto Heels: The High Price of Being Fashionable with Heels
What’s more perfect than having those ultra-tight skinny jeans and splendidly horny tall heels? What would be more glamorous than walking thru that caf door looking like one of the women from Sex and the Town. Though most would adore to celebrate everyday living in high fashion, one should also remember that many things are not really worth the sacrifice one of these being the Stilletto heel.
Who Started the Trend?
In the 1950s, an Italian designer by the name of Roger Vivier introduced a line of heels that were around 4 to five inches tall. These were intended to accompany fashions designed by French fashion designer Christian Dior and were named after thin Italian daggers known as stilettos. Up to this very day, stilettos are still employed by many women worldwide as they’re known to create an attractive and fashionable appeal to everyday wear.
Health Discoveries
Nonetheless as in certain fashion trends, stilettos have been known to cause a number of Problems in girls starting from simple foot agony to osteoarthritis.
Shoes with heels of two inches and above tend to make the foot slide forward causing the toes to cram in front. As a result, toes tend to curl at the middle joint to compensate for such cramming. This condition, more widely known as hammer toes, also leads to a shortening of the muscles supporting the foot resulting in such an affliction. Over a longer period of time, doctors have also reported the formation of calluses, corns, bunions and even toenail Problems as a result of high heels.
Stilletos also tend to change the gait of an individual resulting in a large amount of force being applied to the thin heels found at the rear portion of the foot. Additional strain is also placed on the thigh muscles resulting in agony in other areas of the leg,eg the knee joint or maybe in chest and shoulders structures such as the back.
The worst sort of injury which may be gotten thru the utilisation of these kinds of heels are bone fractures which result from accidents connected with such sort of footwear.
Girls Just Wont Learn
In spite of these facts, surveys continually show that the requirement for stiletto heels remain fairly high. In polls taken, results show that at least 37 p.c of women carry on employing high, stiletto heels regardless of the discomfort that they feel whenever they wear them since they suspect that wearing stilettos add to their appeal.
Clearing up Heel Pain
What girls do not realize though is that when the damage has been done, typically these turn out to be irrevocable. Though relief can be had from stretching exercises, the utilization of shoe inserts and medicine, the final solution always ends up in the operating room.
While it is true that girls should be conscious of their fashion sense, it would also be smart to keep in mind that women shouldnt fall victims to fashion. As much as beauty and glamour entails some sort of sacrifice, in the end, a lady must also know when enough is sufficient.
