Flush mounting. This is also called the burnish setting which holds the center stone on the tapered hole bore on the metal band.

Bar mounting. It’s a variation of merge prong setting which forms a bar this setting provides added protection to the stone.

Bezel mounting. This setting involves a groove metal band which is made or created into the size and shape of the stone it would hold. The finished bezel is then welded into the band while the stone is pressed on its groove.

Prong Mounting. Is one of the common and oldest types of mounting, this setting involves welding of the stone onto the ring.

Among the mountings above the prong mounting is the common type of mounting you usually see that are used on Princess Cut Engagement Rings. Although there are some mountings that also used Princess the prong is one of the common.

This is because the prong setting show off the beauty of the Princess Cut and because of its setting the light can easily pass through the diamond or the gemstone and would shine and sparkle and show off its brilliance.
