I want to be a medical transcriptionist
I want to be a medical transcriptionist because I just became the bread winner of our family. I am a practicing general pediatrician in our province - Quezon Province from the Philippines. Our country is one of the third world country found in the Pacific. My husband was an architect but because of Diabetes, he has just lost both his legs and is now being maintained for dialysis three times a week. He is now a stay at home husband with very minimal source of income because he is confined to his wheelchair and he suffers from a lot of post-dialysis side-effects that he can no longer contribute to our family’s’ finances. We need at least $1,500 to $2000 for his dialysis and medicines which is not supported by our government because of corrupt politicians and because of the financial burden of maintaining his medical needs and providing for our kids education, I have to look for another means of income that will be in some way connected to my present career.
I believe that being a online medical transcriptionist will help me stay at home to personally take care and monitor my husband’s medical needs and be around to be on hand for my children’s’ needs and guardianship. I think that being a medical transcriptionist will also update me on the current advances and actual medical treatment that is going on all over the globe. I am now at the prime of my life and in due time I know I could no longer cope with the hassles and tensions associated with my profession and I think I could still contribute to the medical field by staying on as a medical transcriptionist. I could not afford the tuition fee needed for this course because our money here in peso is equivalent to 50 times in dollars. I have to save every penny that I earn from my career for everything that we need and with the present economic crisis going on, most of our patients bring their kids to the government hospitals and clinics. I could not go full time with my profession because there is nobody to take care of my husband and kids, so I just have my clinic hours in the mornings. I tried to go to a free school on medical transcriptionist here in our area but it has taken up too many hours off the house which I could not afford to do for now because of the aforementioned reasons. I heard that being a stay-at-home medical transcriptionist is a very rewarding career not only because I can do medical transcriptionist work at home at my own pace but also there is the possibility of having my own Medical Transcriptionist business in the future. I plan to encourage my kids and other co-workers to go into this business once I see how rewarding it will be to me and how it would help me plan my time, my finances and my family while I stay at home.
