How to Build an Acne Diet

An acne diet is a very interesting idea. Hasn’t everybody heard that chocolate will give you pimples? Everybody has. So instead of causing a break out, you could prevent it by watching what you eat.

Although creating a good acne diet can be very hard. It is highly personal and based on your body’s unique responses to food. Progress, for the most part, will be trial and error. Observe and make note of any changes in your skin. Write it all down. You could even take pictures a few times a week. So if and when your skin clears up, stay on the diet you were on at the time.

Here are some simple rules to get you started on an acne diet:

* Take in a lot more protein - Many dermatologists are under the belief that protein is connected with clearer skin. They believe this because protein has an enzyme in it that limits oil production. Oily skin has always been susceptible to breakouts.

* 2. Avoid carbohydrates - Do not take all carbs out of your diet. However you should keep them around 40 percent of your diet. This is because compounds in carbohydrates can stimulate oil production. This is why junk food has a reputation for causing acne. In reality, junk food is high in carbs.

* Consume green tea - Drinking the real stuff is the best. The best type of green tea is the kind that you brew. However, if you can’t stand the stuff, then natural green tea drinks will do. Green tea will limit the creation of androgen. Androgen is a hormone that will wreak havoc on your skin.

* 4. Limit your salt intake - Most salt contains iodine. This is the reason we usually call table salt “iodized salt.” Iodine can be one of the biggest inflammatory agents in people with acne.

You must watch your diet and what you put on your face. You should know what ingredients are in your beauty products if you have acne. Look for oil-free moisturizers and natural or organic skin care lines. These products will least likely cause you to breakout. If you wear makeup you may want to consider switching over to mineral makeup. If you want to enhance your acne diet and reduce breakouts, you may want to try mineral makeup.
