Great Fundraising Ideas For Your School Or Organisation

When a bit more money is needed for your school or organisation, a good way of raising some quick cash is by holding a fundraising event. If you are stuck for fundraising ideas then read on to get your creative juices flowing. Sponsored events are always good such as a run or walk. Participants can be sponsored to complete a task, or for reaching certain targets. The event can be short or long – it’s up to you. If everyone is getting active and having fun, then it’s a good thing. Car boot sales are usually a good way of raising money and a way of recycling things that are no longer needed by their owner. This gives car boot sales green credentials too. You could try fundraising fashion shows where people you know are the models and they model fashionable clothing from well known stores. The clothes are then available at a discount price after the show. This is fun for children and parents alike and anything that they like on the catwalk can then be theirs after the show. A barbeque or disco is always enjoyable – and money can be made from the door sales and food and drink, although good weather is needed for a barbeque, which isn’t guaranteed in the UK. A coffee morning is another similar idea. Perhaps you could try a non-uniform day where people pay a few pounds to come to work or school dressed as they want to. This is easy to organise and doesn’t cost you anything so is a great money-raising idea. An enjoyable way of raising money is to hold an auction of promises. People promise time, lend something they own, or donate an item. This is a good idea as people who don’t have much to spare can still promise time to do things, which could be anything from cleaning to babysitting. Fundraising events are a great way to raise money and are a bit of fun at the same time. Don’t forget to tell your local paper what you are doing and tell them the amount you have raised.
