You probably don’t have the money necessary to put on such a lavish affair however. Instead, you need to make a wedding budget and stick to it. You don’t want to take a nosedive into debt starting out your new married life just because all types of merchandise kept catching your eye. It’s best that you just set up your budget before you even start.

Knowing how much you can afford to spend is the first step of making your budget. After determining that, you will have to think creatively so you don’t overspend. You should divide your budget sheet according to the things you know you absolutely have to have. You can create columns which will be useful for dividing expenses for items like the rehearsal dinner, bridesmaid attire, groom and groomsmen tuxes, etc. Taking care of these needs is much more important than your wants.

You can also save a lot of money by making things yourself. You can save tons of money by making your own wedding invitations. In addition, you can do things like buying a bolt of tulle and ribbon and covering little bottles of bubbles yourself instead of buying those that are already decorated. Leftover tulle can be turned into pew bows if you like. You will have plenty of time to get ready for your wedding if you don’t procrastinate, you should have time to do all of the work yourself.

Obviously not every bride can get married in a beautiful venue like Westminster Abbey, but there are tasteful ways to decorate the venue you are using to make it look more festive. Don’t get carried away when it comes to flowers. Many brides have done a lot with just a few flowers. If you’re fortunate enough to know someone who arranges flowers, you can save even more money. Flowers can be quite expensive. Do you need the huge bouquet, or would a smaller one do you just as well? You should also consider not using flowers at your reception venue. It will be much less expensive to use balloon arrangements.
