Essentials For Summer Style

When temperatures soar and the sun comes out to play, all we want to do is relax on the beach without melting into hot sweaty versions of ourselves. But with these simple style essentials it’s a lot easier to relax on the beach and maintain some resemblance of style.

Pack a decent hat
Never go on holiday without a wide brimmed hat. It will keep you cool and cover your face, essential to ensure that sun damage is minimised and wrinkles are kept at bay. It will also cover your hair from the damaging and drying effects of the sun. This is especially important if you have colour in your hair as the sun can effectively bleach the dye making is several shades lighter. This isn’t so much a problem for blondes and lighter shades but can be more disastrous if your darker locks are turning flame red!

Sarongs – the more the merrier
Sarongs are easy summer essentials for holidays in the sun. They’re not expensive so its well worth having a few that can be used to cover every eventuality. They can be worn in a variety of different ways, are good to lie on, cover up with when the sun gets too much, dry off with after a dip in the water and slinging around your shoulders when going for a walk or grabbing a drink.

Buy yourself a decent pair of sunglasses
Instead of having eye makeup melt down your face go au natural and invest in a decent pair of sunglasses to cover your eye area and add definition to your face. One of the brands that have been popular over recent years include ray ban sunglasses and celebrities have been recently photographed in the latest ray ban wayfarer style. If you enjoy water sports you’re likely to need a more resilient and sportier style and oakley sunglasses may be better suited.

Sufficient sun protection
Yes we all want to be golden goddesses but for a lot of the population it just isn’t going to happen. Make sure that you pack plenty of sun protection that has been formulated for your skin type and is suitable for the country you’re in and the activities that you are doing. Make sure that you reapply over all areas of skin frequently and always after being in water. Most importantly this will help to protect your skin from being damaged from the sun and susceptible to skin cancer but you also won’t end up looking like a bright pink lobster with unsightly strap marks!

Just follow these simple tips and you can be sure to keep your style this summer.
