Cruise 2012 Designer Shoes
I have always wished to be Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, so when I saw the Gucci Cruise 2012 Shoe Collection, I was in heaven; sassy pointed-toe D’Orsay pumps, demure ballet flats and tasseled sandals heaven! It is the timeless stylish of that age has intrigued us for the last 50 years: hence our fascination with everything early 60″s. The styles that came about during that timeframe are just that: style, never-endingly classic and forever in fashion.
Gucci, renowned for it’s classic designs caught some of the key looks from the early 60′s in their Cruise 2012 shoe collection featuring their new Noah black patent leather D’Orsay pump, with a pointed toe and inset stiletto heel, all Holly needs now is her long gasper holder and big shades to finish the look!
The GG Cage ballet flat by Gucci is both classic and pure class, sporting a gold-tone double G logo at the toe; where are my wide-brimmed straw hat and white ankle pants…I’m going shopping!
It was Jackie Kennedy who promoted flat thong sandals during her get-aways to Palm Beach and Cape Cod. She’d have loved Gucci’s Emily sandals; the horse-bit and tassel detail front are paying homage to Jackie’s horse-back riding days.
Wedges were commonplace in the 1960′s because they elongate the leg while wearing shorts or mini-skirts. Gucci’s Charlotte patent leather platform wedge pump has a signature Gucci bit on the peep toe and is so easy, it should not be so beautiful! It has a 3″ wedge sitting atop a 1″ platform; a trifling 2″ pitch and a rubber sole makes Charlotte even better to wear.
A comprehensive show-stopper is the Gucci Rachel black suede beaded platform stiletto sandal with “waves” of black crystal climbing toward your ankle. Marilyn Monroe should have worn this singing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President. “.
