Acne Diet Development 101

An acne diet sounds like a wonderful idea. We’ve all heard that chocolate gives you pimples. I believe we all have. As a result, it doesn’t really sound that strange that you are what you eat.

Nevertheless, a good acne diet is not easy to develop. Being based on your body’s responses to certain foods makes it very personal. Your advancement will mostly be by trial and error and not all by guidelines. Observe and make note of any changes in your skin. Write it all down. You might even try taking pictures with your cameral a few times a week. At the time your skin clears stick the diet plan you were following.

Here are a few instructions to help get you started on an acne diet:

* Up your intake of protein - Some dermatologists even believe that protein intake is connected to having clear skin. Oil production is limited from an enzyme located within protein. Oily skin is very vulnerable to breakouts.

* 2. Avoid carbohydrates - Its not necessary to cut out all carbohydrates. But you should try to limit your intake so that they are about 40 percent of your diet. This is because carbohydrates have compounds in them that can stimulate oil production. This is the reason that junk food has the reputation that it causes acne. But actually junk food just is pretty high in carbs.

* Try to drink green tea - If possible, drink the real stuff. The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. However, if you really don’t like it, then try the natural green tea drinks. Androgen production will be limited when you drink green tea. Breakouts can be caused by the hormone called androgen.

* You must restrict the amount of salt you take in - Salt most always contains iodine. This is the reason why you hear table salt called “iodized salt.” For some people with acne, iodine can be a major inflammatory agent.

In addition to watching your diet, you should carefully watch what you put on your face. If you currently have acne, you are more aware than most of what is contained in your beauty products. Those who are prone to acne should look for oil free moisturizers. Products containing natural ingredients will least likely irritate your skin. If you wear makeup you may want to consider switching over to mineral makeup. Dermatologists are under the belief that mineral makeup can fully help alleviate your acne problems while enhancing the results of your acne diet.
